There are more than 1,000 Neighbourhood and Community Houses across Australia, that provide a range of community driven services and activities designed to strengthen communities and support individuals and families.
Vermont South Community House is part of a number of networks as follows:
National networks
Australian Neighbourhood Houses and Centres Association ANCHA (formerly National Link)
The national peak body with members representing the state and territory peak bodies. Members meet via teleconference throughout the year and comes together once a year face-to-face for the AGM and strategic planning.
Statewide networks
ANHLC - The Association of Neighbourhood Houses and Learning Centres Inc.
The ANHLC was established in the early 1970s and is the peak body for the 350+ Victorian Neighbourhood Houses and Community Learning Centres.
Regional networks
CHAOS - The Community Houses Association of the Outer Eastern Suburbs
CHAOS is an association of some 28 Community and Neighbourhood Houses in the Outer East of Melbourne.
Local Government level
COWNCH - The Collective of Whitehorse Neighbourhood and Community Houses
COWNCH represents the 10 Neighbourhood and Community Houses in the City of Whitehorse and was formed in 1995 to share information, support best practice and to develop and implement joint projects.
