About Us

Vermont South Community was established in 1976 to meet the needs of the local community and became incorporated on 15th March 1985. The Committee of Management, elected at the Annual General Meeting in March each year from its membership base, is responsible for the governance of the organisation, with the day to day operations being delegated to the Manager.

Vermont South Community House works within a community development framework, underpinned by the Association of Neighbourhood Houses and Learning Centre’s Neighbourhood House Sector Principles of:
-    Community ownership
-    Community participation
-    Empowerment
-    Access and equity
-    Life-long learning
-    Inclusion
-    Networking Advocacy
-    Self help
-    Social action

The Community House produces a range of documents, including the Annual Report and Strategic Plan as a way of reporting to its members and stakeholders on these sector principles.
